Bike Course:
  • Bike - 5 mile loop - 80% Trail, 15% Gravel Trail or Service Road, 5% Paved - XTERRA competitors complete 2 laps, Sport distance participants complete 1 lap.
  • Riders will leave transition area, and head north on the walking path along side the pond.  After passing the pond they head into the woods on the red trail for a 1/2 mile of twisty single track.  The red trail leads out of the woods onto a short steep climb to the walking trail, which is a mix of paved and gravel surfaces.  After rounding parking lot 7, riders will cross the road at parking lot 4 and head into the blue trail.  The blue trail winds riders up the mountain steadily gaining elevation for 1.75 miles.  There are scattered sections of rocks and roots, but nothing unrideable.  The climbing is broken up by a few flat and downhill sections along the way.  About .25 mile from the mountain's summit, riders head right on the blue trail for a .25 mile descent.  The trail will drop riders on a gravel road where they will make a hard left to begin a straight .5 mile climb to the summit.  This section of the trail is non-technical with a mix of gravel and hard packed dirt.  The final .1 mile of the climb is very steep and will have most riders dismounting. At the summit riders cut left onto the orange trail as they start descending toward the other side of the mountain.  Twisty single track soon opens to a wide trail heading straight down the hill.  Riders will then make a right on a service road heading across the mountain.  After a short section of flat terrain, riders make a right on a gravel road that snakes its way .25 mile back up to the summit.  After crossing the summit, riders head left on the blue trail for a short, tricky descent of about .15 mile. That trail will drop riders onto a gravel road for some more downhill.  Before the final steep descent, riders will turn left off of the gravel road, onto the grass/ski slope.  After bombing it down the last 300 yards of the ski run, riders head right on the service road.  From there its .2 mile of pavement heading back to transition area.

Run Course:
  • Run - 3.2 mile loop - 75% Trail, 20% Gravel Trail or Service Road, 5% Paved – All Racers complete 1 lap.
  • The run course starts out leaving transition, heading on the service road between the ponds.  Runners will then turn right, heading into the woods on the red trail for some technical twisting single track.  The next 1.5 miles is mostly up hill as runners navigate rocky switchbacks to the top of the mountain.  After reaching the peak via the yellow trail, the course turns downhill for .5 miles of rocky single track.  Runners then emerge from the woods for the final .5 mile consisting of a swift downhill on a gravel road, followed by a short jaunt on pavement to the finish.

Transition Area(TA): Opens at 6:00am on Race Day.  First come, first served; there are no reserved bike spots. TA is only for racers and you must show number to enter. There is sufficient space for typical race gear so leave your oxygen tanks and recliners at home. Be advised that TA is secured by race staff until the last runner finishes.
